PATTERN · INDICATOR — ON CANDLE CLOSE
RSI Threshold
RSI crosses your line
FIRES WHEN
Fires when RSI closes above or below your threshold on the chosen timeframe.
RSI measures how one-sided recent closes have been, 0–100. Beyond 70 the move is stretched (overbought); under 30, washed out (oversold).
HOW TRADERS READ IT
Classic use is mean-reversion: fade stretched readings back toward the range. Trend traders read it the other way — a stock that stays pinned above 70 is showing persistent demand. Either way the alert marks the moment worth judging; the book tells you which reading applies.
SETTINGS
| Setting | What it does | e.g. |
|---|---|---|
| Timeframe | Candle timeframe the indicator is computed on | 1m / 5m / 15m / 1h / 4h / 1d |
| Period | Number of bars in the calculation | 14 |
| Direction | gt = above the threshold, lt = below | gt / lt |
| Threshold | RSI value to cross (e.g. 70 overbought, 30 oversold) | 70 |
70/30 with period 14 is the standard; shorter periods and tighter thresholds trade signal quality for speed.
