PATTERN · INDICATOR — ON CANDLE CLOSE
EMA Cross
Fast EMA crosses slow EMA
FIRES WHEN
Fires when the fast EMA crosses the slow EMA in your chosen direction.
Two moving averages, one fast, one slow. The fast one crossing over is the oldest trend signal there is: recent prices have overtaken the longer baseline.
HOW TRADERS READ IT
Golden/death crosses define regime; shorter pairs like 9/21 time entries within it. Crosses lag by construction — they confirm rather than predict, which is exactly what makes them dependable filters. Let the alert flag the flip, then check what the book was doing at that candle.
SETTINGS
| Setting | What it does | e.g. |
|---|---|---|
| Timeframe | Candle timeframe the indicator is computed on | 1m / 5m / 15m / 1h / 4h / 1d |
| Fast period | Number of bars in the calculation | 9 |
| Slow period | Number of bars in the calculation | 21 |
| Direction | bullish = cross up, bearish = cross down | bullish / bearish |
The period pair sets the personality: 9/21 is a swing timer, 50/200 a regime marker that may fire twice a year.
